Christmas Gifts 2012

Happy New Year "2013" everyone.  Hope you're all doing well.  Wanted to share the lovely presents I received for Christmas.   This card came from my daughter Amanda.  I was delighted and overwhelmed with joy when I read the inside.  "She was inspired from the Heart. :o).  And while she was home for the new year, she surprised me with this little wooden trinket box.   She painted and decorated the inside with the colors I love and make me happy.
Thank you mama.  xoxoxo

This beautiful dress form I gave to myself.  It was $7.99 at TJ Maxx.  I know, I thought it was a good deal.  These babies go for lots more around here. :o)... the candle on the right was from my sweet co-working friend Charlotte.  It's smells like wonderful homemade apple pie.  Sooooo wonderfully delicious.  The beautiful yellow card with the little angel is from my beloved mom who also sent me a gift card, calendar wallet with pen (forgot to include it in the photo.  I had it in my bag lol)

Two years ago I had the good fortune to meet a wonderful sweet lady from Belgium.  My sweet Crafty friend Lutgart.  Well, Lutgart is a teacher in her homeland and loves crafting too.  She makes the most beautiful and detailed cards that you can't help but stare and touch them for a long long long time.  lol... They tell their own story.  Above is the cover  and below is the inside part with the snowman throwing the snow ball.  Each snow ball changes in size and comes with a  word until it completes it's Holiday greeting.  (Lutgart gave me all the translations for each snow ball.)  I love it Lutgart.  Thank you so much.  I always look forward to your cards.

Last but not least at all is this beautiful altered box from my dear friend Maggie. (http://www.youtube.com/user/MAGGIE660) This was truly a treat and special surprise.  Maggie has been taking classes on drawing faces and other mixed media art. Look at this girl.  Isn't she lovely?  It's more beautiful in person. She's surrounded by lavender/purple bling.  The entire front of the box has texture.  No area on this surface is smooth. I love it.

Now.... this is the inside of the box and it's a happening inside cover.  Yes indeed.  It's my name in Hebrew. It's got purple bling and lots of texture.  But isn't it cool?  My name in Hebrew.  lol.  Maggie and I took a semester of beginner's Hebrew two summers ago.  We had a blast.   Maggie asked me if I put anything in the box already.  I said... Girl..... I'm not putting anything in that box.  I can't.  lol.. It's in my living room, opened and right where I can look at it from any angle.  It's a soothing color and it has my name written on it too!  In Hebrew (Ivrit)  עִבְרִית

Check this out.  The inside of the box has Psalm 23. "The Lord is my Shepherd" in Hebrew and English.  I wish I could say I can sing it but no... I can't.   Who knows, one day I will sing it along with Maggie and many others too!

Well familia, this is all for now.  May this new year bring you all health, peace, wisdom, strength and joy in the mist of all those things we cannot control.  May the Lord Bless and keep you.

Thank you for stopping by.

Lots of hugs,
Maria
